This site is dedicated to all the Griffey's who descended 
from Joseph and Francis (Fanny). I want to thank all who have made their 
contribution, too many to mention. With out their help what is seen here would not be 
possible. I beleive all information here is correct. 


I have run down every lead from ship manifest and have not been able to prove the 
Griffey Clan legacy of us coming from Wales. Every lead I have run into a dead end. 
All I do know is that Joseph and Francis were married in Orange Co., Virginia, and 
the nearest point of entry for this county is Baltimore, Maryland. At this current 
time I am running down leads from ship manifest out of Ireland.

Before someone corrects me, there was a Samuel Griffey that came into Kentucky at the 
same time as Joseph. I can put him there using land records and census that are 
available thru Ancestry.com. But he too has fizzled. I can not find nothing on him 
after 1840.


My notes: I mention Crab Orchard, Missouri a lot here. Crab Orchard is Elkhorn 
a small one blink town between Richmond and Excelsior Springs on Highway 10.
